The highlight of this morning was the first Redwings of the autumn. 10+ birds were counted flying over in twos and threes. Other visible migration came by way of 30 Woodpigeons, 4 Skylarks, 13 Mistle Thrushes, 4 Song Thrushes, 17 Chaffinches and 4 Jays.
Lingering summer migrants included 6 Chiffchaffs, 1 Blackcap
and an unidentified ‘acro’ in reeds at the north end of the lagoon.
Duck numbers were largely unchanged but included 34 Shoveler,
10 Gadwall, 4 Wigeon, 1 Pintail, 2 Pochard and 3 Goosander.
